European robin (Erithacus rubecula).

This little guy (or girl) was curious enough to let me get around 20 shots of it. While probably not technically the best one, I thought the expression on its face would win a few hearts around here :aww:

I think that there's actually alot technically right about it--you have the robin in nice sharp focus while the aperture is just wide enough to keep the background from really competing with it. And then it's slightly offset from the center to give it a little more visual interest. The overall color scheme is also neutral enough that the red/orange breast really stands out well. Overall I like it technically but even more so, I get a smile at its curious expression. =D

How the hell did you get this shot! All the robins I know would be gone in a flash - I love the contrast of his breast against what looks like a pretty dismal day! It really lights the picture up ^^

this is truly an amazing shot! I love the robin is in focus while the bg is in blur! and the colors are superb!gosh hehe I really really love robins!
